Back in the height of summer (London Pride weekend) we started a self guided chocolate tour in London. A Christmas present through Taste Tripper. However as the weather wasn’t really conducive to keeping chocolates from melting we postponed the rest of our tour until October when the chocolates would be safe!
Taste Tripper gives you 7 explorer cards to go to 7 different chocolate shops across London. Each of the shops offers something different, maybe a couple of chocolates from the display or a hot chocolate and then a deal, such as 20% off purchases if you are interested.
First stop was Rococo Chocolates in Belgravia. Every chocolate has it’s own story apparently, not that we heard more than one. A lovely little shop with a lush hot chocolate.
Secondly was Artisan du Chocolat on Lower Sloane Street. A great selection to choose from. The Tasmanian Honey was good although I couldn’t recommend the Tobacco. Check out the creepy chocolate pumpkin and skull they have on the website. They’re cool.
Our final chocolate stop was more of a patisserie than a chocolate shop. R Chocolate served a wide range of cakes and savouries as well as chocolates. I’d happily have scoffed the lot but we just stopped for the choccies.
We rounded the day off with a couple of beers at the Ship Tavern in Holborn and The Black Friar in Blackfriars it was a grand day out. The London chocolate tour is a good way to explore London with some tasty treats. I shall have to try the coffee tour next.
A very useful starting point for my return to exploring London….
